Privacy Notice

Concept Marketing Group LLC, doing business as Own the Room Today w/ MrJHoward, is the data controller for personal data processed through owntheroomtoday.com and the Own the Room Today application. This notice explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have.

1. Personal data we collect

• Account data — first and last name, email address, and login credentials (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; if you sign in with Google we receive your name and email only).
• Program data — your lesson progress, completion timestamps, drill and challenge status, scenario answers, written reflections, and self-assessment scores.
• Purchase data — the fact and status of your enrollment, tier, and order references. Card and billing details are collected and held by Paddle, not by us.
• Support and marketing data — messages you send us, waitlist sign-ups, and guide download requests.
• Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and product events such as pages viewed and buttons clicked.

2. Why we use it, and our legal basis

• Creating your account and delivering the Program you bought — performance of a contract.
• Saving your progress, reflections, and assessments so the Program works across devices — performance of a contract.
• Customer support and responding to your messages — contract / legitimate interests.
• Security, abuse and fraud prevention, and protecting the Service — legitimate interests.
• Measuring and improving the product with aggregate usage analytics — legitimate interests.
• Sending marketing emails, the free guide, or waitlist updates — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Meeting tax, accounting, and other legal obligations — legal obligation.

3. Who we share it with

• Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, which handles the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
• Service providers / subprocessors — cloud hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, file storage, email delivery, and analytics tooling, each acting on our instructions.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers, where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

5. Retention

We keep account and Program data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months after it becomes inactive, so you can return to your progress. Purchase and tax records are kept as long as required by law (typically 7 years). Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. After those periods data is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, and — for UK/EEA residents — complain to your supervisory authority. We respond to requests within one month. To exercise a right, email support@owntheroomtoday.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, row-level access controls on our database, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and any regulator where required if a breach affects you.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your session — these are required for the Service to function. We use limited product analytics to understand how the Program is used. We do not run third-party advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though signing in will not work without the essential ones.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
